Ah. Art in Asheville. People flock to here from around the world seeking creative and original art. We are proud to be the home of illustrative and narrative art in Western North Carolina. 

The vast diversity that is found among the art galleries here in Asheville is one of the many reasons to come and visit this unique town. Each gallery offers a different flavor. We are the Asheville art gallery for fun, whimsical, quirky and even geek art. We are the Asheville gallery that appeals to art aficionados as well as the average Joe. Joshua Marc Levy, 423 is an award-winning, independent art director, designer, illustrator and fine artist living in Asheville, NC. He has produced album covers, posters, and merchandise for artists including AC/DC, Grateful Dead, The Black Crowes and local bands such as The Fritz, Velvet Truckstop and most recently The Broadcast. Joshua has shown his artwork at galleries in New Jersey, New York City and Asheville, NC. He currently shows his work at ZaPow Gallery in downtown Asheville. 

Joshua is teaming up with Martin Coyle of Blotter Art Company to produce his first ever, limited edition blotter art prints “Dosed Tigers,” “Special,” “When Is Now,” and “Go To Heaven”. Blotter art is a recognized form of folk art and is highly collectable. This type of art has transcended the underground market and is available to collectors worldwide. These strictly limited signed editions of 150 were printed on press using the highest quality archival paper and ink. 

Please join us on Friday May 31st, at Zapow art gallery from 6 - 8pm for an unveiling, signing and numbering of the artworks. Meet the artist and dance to a free experimental live set of music by The Jamar Woods Experience, Featuring members of The Fritz, Asheville’s high-energy funk and rock band (6-8pm). FREE.

Unlike at a Con we do all of the work and we charge lower booth fees & commission.

How does an artist become a part of ZaPow?
We are a collection of talented artists. We handle the sales for you and take a very small 15% commission. (vs. the typical 50% commission of most galleries). In place of large commissions, we charge a membership fee and encourage artists to set up and maintain their space in a way that best suits them. If an artist is not local, we will curate the exhibit at no extra cost.  In addition to their wall space, we invite our artists to participate in group shows on our front wall.

Membership fees are dependent on how much space you wish to have in the gallery. The prices and sizes below reflect what is currently available. 

2' x 6' wall section - $65 monthly Membership fee
3’ x6’ wall section - $85 monthly Membership fee
4' x 6' wall section -  $115 monthly Membership fee
4' x 6'' end cap  - $125 monthly Membership fee
6’ x6 wall section - $135 monthly Membership fee
8' x 6'  whole wall -  $180 monthly Membership fee

Gallery Membership  
ZaPow is a launch pad. We encourage our artists to take advantage of industry mailings that we provide; we remind our artists of competition deadlines for leading illustration competitions; we provide free career development workshops; we issue monthly recommendations on books to read that will help promote your career; we promote your work beyond ZaPow at conventions and fairs; and in January 2013 we will be presenting the portfolios of a select group of our artists to art directors and editors when we travel to New York.

Membership also comes with the following opportunities:

• The opportunity for you to post your work  in our online gallery. 
  
• Receive a 15% discount on all items in the gallery as well as additional artist promotion services, including video artist bios, book trailers, submission services etc.
• Art Openings in a high traffic area of downtown Asheville
• We handle all the reporting of taxes on sales, we purchase retail materials to package your art once it is purchased (Cool bags tissue etc.) and most importantly we present your art in a hip and amazing setting. 
  
• 6' x 6' walls and larger come with a free artist profile video
