About Rebecca:

Picture
Rebecca A. Rouse
Rebecca is a full time, established artist of many mediums. Her works are currently available for purchase at  ZaPow, in downtown Asheville, NC. In the summer of 2012 Rebecca won 1st Place in the Gathering of the Vibes Food Drive poster contest with her design featuring "Lonesome George" the last of the Pinta Island tortoises.
Prints and originals of almost all works are available. Rebecca now lives in North Carolina with her husband and four sons.
"Painting came to me at a very young age, I was fortunate to have my early childhood education through a Waldorf school which focuses the teaching of all subjects through artwork and creativity. At the age of 26 I took my work in a more serious direction in pursuit of a life-long learning for my love of art. I paint to think, I genuinely have the belief in a collective consciousness, and so I have infinite gratitude for every person I meet, as they are the creators as well, I am just a practiced mover of paint and a handful of other mediums."
Process:
"Music is a key factor in all my creativity, whether it is being heard actively while I work or being recalled in memory. I believe music is an evolved communication, as it speaks to everyone unequivocally , and can evoke the strongest feelings which can manifest the most powerful changes in imagination. Music that was created out of love is only translated into the painting, which can be extremely satisfying to my self, though my ultimate wish is to use this talent to translate it to all who are interested in knowing more and further exploring our infinite mind-space..."

Take a tour of Rebecca's Website to see more of her color theory and contrasting styled artwork. Below is the winning poster she designed for the "Gathering of the Vibes" Food Drive, this was rewarded to those who donated 10 or more items to the food shelf in Bridgeport, CT. Over the course of the weekend, festival attendees brought in a total of 7,210 lbs. of donations, 6,659 lbs. of food and personal hygiene products and 552 lbs of new or gently used clothing!!
